Nicolas Epelbaum, CPA

Passionate about bridging research and practice, Nicolas Epelbaum is excited by the evolving role of CPAs as strategic partners in a data‑driven world. He began his career as an auditor at PwC and earned his CPA designation before pursuing advanced studies at the Schulich School of Business. He went on to complete his PhD in Business Administration, specializing in investor judgment and decision‑making related to crypto‑assets.

Today, Nicolas is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he teaches financial accounting and auditing and conducts research on financial reporting, auditing and investor behaviour. Being named an Emerging Leader reflects Nicolas’ enthusiasm for lifelong learning and his dedication to mentorship.

Nicolas sees CPAs as strategic partners who leverage data and research to guide decision-making in a complex global economy. He is inspired by the profession's commitment to ongoing innovation and looks forward to preparing CPAs for an exciting future ahead.
