Shafi Warraich, CPA

Shafi Warraich did not initially plan to become a CPA. Like his older siblings, he began his post-secondary education intending to pursue medicine. Over time, he found himself drawn to business problem-solving. After attending an event where he learned about the strategic role CPAs play, he decided to change course.

After seven years at PwC, where he left as a Senior Manager in Tax, Shafi started his own firm, CoPilot Tax LLP. As co-founder and partner, he helps business owners keep more of what they earn by making confident decisions. He particularly loves turning taxes from something clients are afraid of into something they can plan for. Shafi is also a facilitator in CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program and a widely followed educator on LinkedIn, known for making tax concepts easy to understand.

Shafi cares deeply about mentoring young CPAs, especially those who want to build something of their own but are unsure where to start. He believes CPAs can make an enormous impact by bringing clarity to complexity.
