Dean Braunsteiner, FCPA, FCA 

Over the past two decades, Dean Braunsteiner has been a driving force in Canada’s mining sector. Starting his career at PwC, he co-authored the firm’s IFRS guidebook for the mining industry and led the largest mining IPO in Canadian history. As Ernst & Young Canada’s Metals and Mining Assurance Leader, Dean is a champion for innovation and growth. He co-founded the EY Americas Mining Center of Excellence and creating the EY Mining Academy to train CPAs for the unique challenges of one of the most vital sectors of the Canadian economy. As the former chair of the Audit and Finance Committee for the non-profit Canadian Mining Innovation Council, Dean helped establish governance and internal controls.

He has also mentored countless professionals, launched outreach programs to inspire students and taken part in three multi-day charity bike rides from Toronto to Austin, Texas raising funds for Wellspring Cancer Support. Dean’s message for the next generation is to lead with curiosity and integrity.
