Edward (Ted) L. Smith, FCPA, FCA

Ted Smith is a true “CPA’s CPA” who embodies what makes the profession special. Earning his designation in 1991, he rose to partner at Bairstow, Smart & Smith, followed by Baker Tilly GWD, before founding his own firm in 2025. His integrity and professionalism have earned him the loyalty of his clients, many of whom have been with him for over 30 years. That commitment to integrity extends to protecting the public by volunteering with CPA Ontario and helping uphold the standards of the profession.

Recently appointed Chair of the Grand River Conservation Foundation, Ted helped open the Guelph Lake Nature Centre. He also served on the board of the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation, where he helped build a new hospital that will transform local health care. Ted represents the best of what it means to be a CPA. In the words of a former colleague, he promotes the profession one conversation at a time, showing clients, colleagues and students alike the value and ethics that define it.
