As one of his peers shared, Joel Humphrey is a proud CPA and true professional with an unselfish sense of community. As Managing Partner at Freelandt Caldwell Reilly LLP, Joel is a visionary leader who has transformed the firm by driving growth, expanding into new regions and championing a bold technology strategy. He established and leads the firm’s innovation team, advancing digital automation, artificial intelligence and quality management in practice.

Joel believes in creating opportunities for others, whether clients, colleagues or the next generation of CPAs. He believes the profession is strongest when all parts of the CPA ecosystem work together, collaborate and embrace change. As Chair of the Cambrian College Foundation, Joel brought these values to his approach to giving back, helping expand access to education across Northern Ontario. Nationally, he helped shape Canada’s assurance landscape through his leadership on the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, where he influenced national standards that support private enterprises and advanced the integration of technology into the profession.
