Katherine Gibson

As CFO of RBC, Canada’s largest bank and one of the world’s largest by market capitalization, Katherine Gibson leverages her strategic vision, financial insights and authentic leadership to enable RBC’s growth ambitions and drive outperformance. Throughout more than 20 years at RBC, she has led her global teams through landmark initiatives, including the acquisition and integration of HSBC Canada and the delivery of RBC’s first all-bank investor day in 2025. She has also overseen the implementation of both IFRS 9 and IFRS 17, amongst other key accomplishments.

Katherine is dedicated to inclusivity, mentorship and supporting the professional and personal growth of others. She serves on the Audit and Risk Committee of Pathways to Education, breaking down barriers for youth in low-income communities, and co-founded the Opt-In program at Toronto Metropolitan University, which supports women returning to the workforce. Katherine's advice to young CPAs joining a changing industry? Remember that honing your human skills is just as important as mastering technical skills.
