For the past three decades, Lesley Gallinger has played a key role in the province’s reliable, affordable and sustainable energy future, positioning the electricity grid to support economic growth and prosperity for all Ontarians. In her current role as President and CEO of Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator, she oversaw the modernization of the province’s electricity market, launched the largest resource procurement in Canadian history, and secured $10.9 billion in government support for energy efficiency initiatives, the impact of which will be felt for generations.
In 2023, Lesley was appointed by the Federal Minister of Energy to sit on the Canadian Electricity Advisory Council. She sits on the boards of multiple organizations in the energy sector, champions diversity through programs like Women in Nuclear Canada’s LEAP initiative, has contributed her governance expertise to Plexxus and WaterTAP Ontario, and was named Leader of the Year by Electricity Human Resources Canada in 2023. Lesley believes leadership is about creating space for others to grow – building a future that is sustainable, inclusive and full of possibility.
