Margaret Pacheco, FCPA, FCA

Margaret Pacheco is a distinguished CPA known for her deep commitment to continuous improvement in the internal audit profession. Beginning her career at BDO in South Africa, she has held roles at KPMG, TD Bank and Protiviti. As Managing Director at Protiviti Canada, she leads Internal Audit and Financial Advisory and has helped the firm expand its presence and practice in Canada.

Margaret is a very involved leader with the Institute of Internal Auditors, having served in crucial roles, including President and Chair of the Toronto Chapter. She was instrumental in Toronto being selected as the location for the 2025 IIA International Conference, attended by over 2,000 audit practitioners and providers from 120 countries. Her colleagues say Margaret has a unique ability to bring people together, a quality which multiplies her own impact and creates new opportunities for others.
