Mark Nawacki, FCPA, FCA

Mark Nawacki is a visionary entrepreneur who has transformed Canada’s pharmaceutical landscape. He co-founded Searchlight Pharma in 2015 with the goal of addressing unmet medical needs and bringing treatments to Canadian patients and health care providers that would not have been available otherwise. Under his leadership, it grew into one of Canada’s leading specialty pharmaceutical companies and placed on The Globe and Mail’s Top Growing Companies list for six consecutive years. Mark led its sale to Apotex in 2024, a transaction that reshaped the industry and strengthened access to medical care.

Mark embeds community care into corporate culture and has found that giving back through initiatives like the United Way and The Shoebox Project energizes his workforce. He and his wife also support the Concours Musical International de Montreal, a competition for classical musicians. Mark believes CPAs have the skills and perspective to help solve some of the biggest challenges confronting our world today – and his career is evidence of that.
