Transcript Assessment
You have done the work and are now ready to take the next step in your career. Your application to the CPA Ontario certification program begins with submitting your transcript assessment application. The assessment determines if you are eligible to enrol in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) and lets you know if you have any outstanding requirements.
On this page, you will find how to submit your transcript assessment application and the important information you need to know before you hit apply.
How do I submit my application?
- Make sure you have all documents for a transcript assessment or combined application.
- Create an account with CPA Ontario if you do not have one already or log in to My Portal.
- Submit your transcript assessment application or combined application.
- Arrange for your official transcript(s) to be submitted.
Official transcripts
Official transcripts are required unless a student is seeking conditional enrollment because they are either:
- enrolled in their final semester at a Canadian post-secondary institution (PSI)
- have completed all the academic requirements to confer their degree, however they have not yet conferred their degree
Within four months of beginning CPA PEP or a CPA preparatory course, an official transcript must be submitted by following the instructions below.
How do I submit my transcripts?
CPA Ontario only considers transcripts official if they are received one of three ways.
- MyCreds. Video instructions on how to submit are available here.
- Electronically, through an approved education credential platform (Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse).
- Enter “transcriptregistration@cpaontario.ca” as the recipient.
- By mail, in a sealed envelope sent directly from the institution’s Registrar’s Office to CPA Ontario.

- Apply for a course-by-course ICAP evaluation with WES Canada by following the steps on their website. Make sure to select ‘Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario’ as the recipient when applying.
- Provide all required documents and information to WES and wait for your ICAP evaluation to be completed. CPA Ontario will receive a notification from WES once your evaluation is ready.
- You will receive an email from CPA Ontario when we receive your WES evaluation.
- Apply for a Transcript Assessment through our online portal. If you have already applied before completing your WES evaluation, that’s okay too.
- Once CPA Ontario receives your ICAP evaluation from WES, your submitted transcript assessment application, and any other requested documentation, our assessors will begin your transcript assessment.
