CPA PEP Schedules

CPA Ontario offers Professional Education Program (PEP) Core and Elective modules up to four times per year and Capstone modules and the Common Final Examination (CFE) up to two times per year. On this page, you can view the CPA PEP schedules and important deadlines. The start time for all CPA Profession Education Program (PEP) Examinations is 9:00 AM local time.

The CPA PEP culminates in the Common Final Examination (CFE) and is built upon the CPA competency map. For all CFE-related deadlines and dates, visit our CFE enrolment page.

If you'd like to find information about the fees related to CPA PEP modules and examinations and learn how to manage your PEP module enrolment, review CPA PEP enrolment policies and fees.

Transcript assessment deadlines

To ensure enrolment in a module, a complete transcript assessment form with required documentation must be submitted to CPA Ontario by the specified deadlines below. We cannot guarantee that academic transcript assessments and student registrations received after the deadline or that are incomplete will be processed to allow the student to be enrolled in a module.

If you submit a complete application within the processing timelines, we encourage you to track the status of your application in My Portal.

Note: The transcript assessment deadlines do not apply to CPA Accredited graduates. Please contact your faculty for the deadlines.

Conditional Enrolments

Students are strongly encouraged to conditionally enrol in an upcoming module before receiving their exam results for the previous module. If unsuccessful, they will be automatically withdrawn from the upcoming module, and a full refund will be issued. We may be unable to accommodate late enrolments after exam results are released.

Use our dropdown to view dates, including deadlines, workshops, examinations and results.

*For module and challenge examination. Must meet criteria to challenge the examination
1Core 1/Core 1 Extended also include an orientation workshop
2It is recommended that you take Capstone 1 and Capstone 2 immediately before the CFE
Workshops will be virtual and delivered live over Zoom. They will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days. Cameras are required to be ON for the duration of the workshop. The virtual workshops will be just as rigorous as the former in-person workshops, and participation is required. You will be emailed your Zoom login information in the week before the workshop.
3Core 1 modules may be offered with an alternative dates option, with the module workshops and orientation workshops being offered on the Monday and Tuesday following the regularly scheduled workshops. Students unable to attend any portion of a weekend workshop(s) must select the “Alternative Workshop Dates” option when enrolling. If the “Alternative Workshop Dates” option is selected, attendance on the Monday and Tuesday sessions is mandatory and cannot be substituted for a weekend workshop. Students must attend either the module workshop or the alternative workshop. All students are eligible to enrol in the alternative workshop date even without a scheduling conflict.
4Students enrolling in Core & Elective modules looking to defer their module-end exam, in addition to meeting the module eligibility requirements must make their deferral prior to the scheduled start-time of the examination. Deferrals are completed through My Portal. If you encounter any issues processing the deferral, please email cpapepenrolment@cpaontario.ca prior to the start of the examination.
5Repeat writers or those exempt from Capstone 2 (i.e. some MOU writers) have the option to enrol in the Capstone 2 module. Writers opting for the full module will benefit from attending the module workshop, receiving feedback on practice case submissions by stated deadlines, and gaining access to the Capstone 2 discussion board. Alternatively, writers can purchase Capstone 2 review materials, but they will not have access to the module workshop, will not receive feedback on practice case submissions and will not be able to access the discussion boards. For Day 1-only repeat writers, they have the opportunity to enrol in another version of Capstone 2. This option grants access to Day 1 practice cases, personalized feedback on these cased and participation in the related Day 1 discussion board.
